Expanding? The Comfort Zone

Boldly (?!?) going where I hadn't yet gone before, I deleted a blog from my bloglines feed today. After an initial interest (mostly because the blog in question was written in French and j'ai faim), I decided that I didn't really want to keep reading. I guess, selfishly, what I really decided was that the blog just wasn't helping me jump on any jellyfish.

After my "bold" act of deletion, I headed to Historiological Notes, which continues to appeal. From there, I started to bounce around.

Relevant sidebar: Historiological Notes has me listed in her links as an "academic blog" (Thank you Kristine!) And today, though I've come across a few "academic blogs" on my own, I decided to explore her category. A bit like KB's own musings on The author; Who?, I confess to feeling a bit peculiar about seeing my blog in a category.

From HN, I headed, among other places, to The Little Professor, from whose links rubric, Blogs, Book- and Academia-Related, In Favor of Thinking intrigued. And that's when the current really started to move. IFT's entry on hierarchies struck more than a chord, and so I took the time to read the 10 (as of today) comments as well. In the comments, "Janet" of Adventures in Ethics and Science made sense, and convinced me also to have a look at the New Kid on the Hallway.

What does it all mean? Well, at least, it means my deletion will likely not be missed, as my blogline feeds just became more numerous. At most? Stay tuned. I am - still tuned to Annie Lennox that is. And as she continues to play on in the background, I re:turn in the hermeneutic circle...

Not sure, but for today, I'll make like Dory and "just keep swimming." L:)
